Hopefully someone can help me out... All I want to do is record my voice over an instrumental which is saved to my desk top... is there anyway someone can give me some clear directions, I don't know what I'm doing.

Import the instrumental track into HS. It should be in an audio track. Then create a new audio track and record into that with your mic.

There are 8 or 9 Tutorials that come with Home Studio that are in the Help Section. If you'd take the time to go through each of these, you'd learn how to use the program.

This is very easy as PieterVW indicated.

First convert the music to an acceptable format for Cakewalk. WAV works good for me. Then, import that file File/Import Audio into an AUDIO track. Once it's in there. You can record a voice over on another track.

Tip: probably best if you listen through headphones when you're recording the voice or the instrumental will bleed in.

i need help with this too cuz i get the instrumental on and hear it clearly but wen i save it and hear it again i can hear my voice but barely hear the instrumental
