  • Track focus moves to wrong track if track folder is collapsed (CWBRN-22691/CWBRN-24102)

This was probably introduced in X3. If you want to reproduce the issue, follow these steps:

1. Load the Normal project template.
2. (Delete the existing tracks--if you see them--and) insert 10 audio tracks.
3. Put the first 5 tracks into a track folder, and the remaining 5 tracks into another track folder.
4. Collapse only the 2nd track folder.
5. Open the Console view (if not already opened) and click any of Track 2 to Track 5. The track focus in the Track view also moves to the track you chose, as intended.
6. Click any of Track 6 to Track 10 in the Console view.

[Expected Results]
In both views, the track focus moves to, and stays at, the track you clicked.

[Actual Results]
The track focus moves to the track you clicked only momentarily and then jumps to Track 1. If you click any of Track 6 to Track 10 again, then the focus change between Track 6 and Track 10 starts working properly.

It works as expected for me (cannot repro) - X3D. Cheers.

I've just run the test in both X1 and X2, and could reproduce the issue.

I captured the behavior in a video (no sound) so you can download it and see it (drag the file into your web browser):

If you still can't reproduce it, it could be a version specific issue (i.e. base version only).
(I don't think this is a system-specific issue.)

Thanks

Thanks both. I contacted tech support and was manage to identify what I think is the cause, but I haven't heard from support since then (about 2 weeks ago) and when I re-reported it via Problem Reporter mentioning the cause, they said they still can't reproduce it. So I'd be glad if you could try the following for me.

1. Go to Edit->Preferences->MIDI->Control Surfaces, then click the Add New Controller/Surface button and select any of the following from the Controller/Surface drop-down list:

  A) ACT MIDI Controller
  B) Edirol PCR-M30
  C) A-PRO (This is what I've been using)
  D) Edirol PCR-300

-- You can select anything from the In Port and Out Port drop-down lists (even "---None---" will do).

2. Click OK and exit Preferences, then try the steps in the first post.

So, can you reproduce it now? If I delete A-PRO or add any of the remaining controllers/surfaces listed in the drop-down list, the weird behavior goes away.

Thanks. I should probably uninstall and re-install the A-Pro driver for further investigation because I see the same issue in X1 and X2 as well...

Did you update the A-PRO firmware because I did...

You mean the system program? If so, yes, it's the latest (v1.15). But my A-pro driver is v1.0.1 and not the latest (v1.0.2), because the latest one is for Win 8/8.1. Maybe I should update. It might fix the issue.
