Have you tried turning it up to eleven?  On a Mac?

On a Mac, I'd turn it up to 240.    Volts.     In the US.

Going for the 'vile reek of brimstone' there SuperG/Violator?

I'll settle for garden variety sulphur, I can skip the theatrical type.  That, or boiling cabbage.

Most of the replies here are the very reason (self-fulfilling) that one gets those very sorts of replies: the learned, wise, kind and mature, self-secure users of this software have long-since abandoned this forum.

It is amazing to me that the conveyers of such sarcasm and child-like (insecure children, mind you) responses are not clear within themselves that 1) it ruins the forum, and 2) that it makes them look like people with such limited lives that twitting on others on a software forum is meaningful and significant.

You sarcastic, ill-humored would-be musicians/technicians need to check yourselves.  If the world were full of your types, it would be a true and severe mess.

Ah yes, quite right sorry...  music is about being serious all the time. Sorry about that...
nb I didn't see any sarcasm, but who cares anyway, the OP joined in quite brilliantly I thought but who cares when this thread should be about you ;).

p.s. Have you ever met a musician or seen Spinal Tap?
And where is your advice/answer to the OP's question?

I think the reason answers of this sort were given were because the question is beyond the scope of this forum. We can't answer questions about style or creativity. We answer questions about how to use Sonar. Its not a music forum but rather a software forum.

You may disparage it if you like but I think the people that did respond did so in a light hearted way instead of reminding OP that the question was inappropriate and somewhat self aggrandizing. No one wishes to feed another's ego. It ain't our job.

I'm editing this because it was address to the wrong person. (Thank you Alex). None the less I think its a proper post.

Hey John WhiteJS wasn't even the OP, the OP was kind enough to play along with the humour :)

.... and here I sit in utter amazement and disbelief thinking how no one even thought to mention Panu's utility:

Now, this is the kind of thread I can sink my teeth into. Allow me to de-scabbard-ize (de-scabbard-ate?) my rapier and take a stab at this...
jkoseattleAnd yes, I already looked in the help for a "Make Music Sound Better" button.

There was one, but it was removed after version 6. Too many people were making amazing music and the record companies couldn't keep up. Perhaps you noticed the sharp decline in music quality around 2006?

jkoseattleI also thought there might be a slider where you can set how good you want your music to sound. Strangely, no luck.

I direct your attention to the comment above.

jkoseattleAlso, where is the "Make more commercial" option?

McCartney owns exclusive rights to this feature, it's derivatives, and off-shoots. Whenever someone writes a new algorithm, his company buys it before it's released. In other words, just forget about it. Ain't gonna happen.

jkoseattleThe piece is in D major. I have 6 Gb RAM.

Ah-ha! There's your problem!

Just remember the immortal words of Theodore Roosevelt (or one of his speechwriters): Do what you can with what you have where you are. Can't go wrong with that!

Listen to David Hasslehoff's records for several hours, then play back your track directly afterwards.
You will notice a significant improvement. This technique is known as "ear training".

Sounds more like the ear-training equivalent of debriefing.
