Good idea. I'll give that a try first.

Within the Comping feature there is a default settings that's creates cross fades every time you swipe to isolate a clip. Did you by any chance turn this off in there preferences?

Edit > Preferences > Customization > Editing > Clips

Make sure you have anything but "0" within "Auto-crossfade Comps". If it's set to 5 try increasing the number.

Finally got a chance to try out your suggestions and had success. The "Zero Crossings" did the trick. Thanks for the help everyone (except maybe Vastman). ;)

ah, shucks... I can be a booger sometimes... and it did sound a bit trollish... get them types from that other platform periodically... you'll have to admit... it did have the flavor...

Glad you got the typically fantastic help of all the guru's... really!

All is forgiven. Now let's make some music.

Now that this is "solved", I have a question.
Is the comping feature the same as "take" lanes?

Yes, it is.

Technically...  you can have Take Lanes without ever comping.  Layering performances using Sound on Sound mode is example.  You might mute or solo specific lanes but never touch the clips themselves.

Comping is more about using various workflows to edit multiple takes to achieve the desired end result, while Take Lanes are a mechanism for containing & displaying those takes.

Thanks for the clarification. Much to learn about X3. My previous version was Sonar 6.
