Hi all,

What's the best way to create drum loops?  I'm using X2 and have been through the entire library that came with it, and don't really like any of them for the project I'm writing (film music in the vein of Don Henley's "Goodbye To A River")

Are there any resources or downloads someone can point me to?   Are there some exist loop libraries for Sonar that are available?  -ryan

Start here.
Then after you've created your loops, go here.
These two articles should get you started. But don't forget that you can use Session Drummer 3 as a tone generator, and create loops using MIDI. That gives a lot of flexiblity. Have fun!

Great thanks so much!    I also just discovered GrooveMonkee too, so I may cobble together some new stuff from them also.

If you like random craziness, try looping 8 measures and turning on input quantize and tapping out something you like... Sometimes doing one stick and then the other in two passes through can work kind well. Clean it up and loop it. :-)
