The interface may have a switch to select Line or Mic, the difference being the expected level. Sometimes, it's necessary to choose "Mic" even though it's not a microphone you have plugged in.

If your interface does not have that option, you'll have no choice but to place a preamp between the instrument and the interface. This is rarely necessary, though.

What instrument, specifically, are you trying to record? A synthesizer? A guitar?

Grüße, und herzlich willkommen! Ich kann dein Deutsch lesen, aber leider muß ich auf Englisch antworten. Vor 40 Jahren konnte ich es fließend sprechen. Heute nicht. Also dann...

On your audio interface, you need to use Input 1 (INST (Hi-Z)) for your J Bass. You also need to set the switch on the back to Hi-Z (next to the Power button). And then, of course, you need to adjust your inputs SENS so it's almost as loud as you can get without clipping (leave yourself a little headroom). With a bass, especially a passive one, it's helpful to have a compressor pedal between the bass and the audio interface. I have a Markbass Compressore. It's good, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have a pedal board. It's draws a LOT of current and wouldn't play well with the pedal board power supplies I'm familiar with.

I also have a Fender J Bass. They have passive single coil pickups which provide a relatively low output (like when your output drops in half when you split the coils on a humbucker). Active pickups have much higher output, so you have more flexibility there.

Thank you verry mutch Maartian

Jawohl!

This is the control you can use to balance the levels between your tracks. Don't record too hot (too loud) or you will have trouble during mixing.

The gain control might help (up to 18 dB increase), or you can apply gain to the recorded clip after recording. Whether or not this is sufficient depends on the levels you have recorded. If they are at least -30 dB or so, it's quite possible you can use Process -> Gain to bring them up. If, however, that results in excessive noise, then you'll need to amplify the signal coming in.

(Ich hoffe, dass ich Ihre Frage verstehe. Ich habe seit Jahren nicht mehr Deutsch gesprochen, seit ich 1972 München verlassen habe. Jeez, I just know my German teacher would be cringing at that. Sorry, Fraü Schumacher.)
