I can highly recommend Ian Hunter's Diary of a Rock'n'Roll Star - a really enlightening read.

I think Mott and Ian Hunter is/are one of the very underappreciated ones. Hunter was a real master of rugged ballads and simplified, edgy rock songs. I still warmly remember their gig in Helsinki long ago. The name Overend Watts sounded so cool in my ears. Mad Shadows is a great album, by far the best they made, IMO.
