  • how to create a quick mix with a new tempo?

I have a client that is often requesting copies of songs (which are all scratch tracks except drums) at different tempos.
Quality is not a concern as this is just so he can decide what tempo to use for the final song.
The issue I'm having is when using; ctrl-a to select all clips, then open Audiosnap, select "Clip Follows project", then change the tempo.  I can quickly hear the new tempo (at a lower quality) using this method, but I need to also quickly export this as a scratch mix.  When I try to export, SONAR X3 does a full rendering (to get better quality).  This took about 3 hours!.  I just need to bounce the low quality version I'm hearing live as it is good enough until a tempo is decided.

Is this possible?
I could always record the raw audio into another recorder, then burn a cd, then put it back into my computer...  I would like to avoid doing this also.

Try setting the offline algorithm to groove clip looping. The quality won't be very good, but it should render a lot faster.

FWIW when starting work on a song, I use MIDI until I have the tempo and key nailed. Only then do I start laying down audio.

And this can also be done if the song started life as a analog recording by simply adding midi parts alongside the original, like bass, piano and drums. Then all you need to do is change the tempo of the song and mute the audio tracks. Now export the midi part.

Bounce the master bus to a new track at normal tempo. Then enable Autostretch on that one track, change the tempo, and bounce/export that track.

+1, this is the easiest and best way to do it
