Anyone have a Presonus Faderport working in X1?
Mine works fine in 8.5 but in X1 the lights work but the buttons don't.
I've installed the latest drivers. OS is XP Pro service pack 3.

Well, I haven't gotten as far as you did with Win 7x64 Sonar X1x64. I would want to know what the solution is.

OK, read Presonus forums - what a frustration. There's no support for the thing... But somebody mentioned that they've seen somewhere

regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\FaderPort.dll"

That somewhat fixed it for my X1Ax64 install. Make sure to copy the faderport.dll from presonus installation folder before you run this. If you don't have any other problems like firmware not updated it should work.

One more thing don't forget to enable "aftertouch" and "channel aftertouch" in Sonar menu...

Good Luck

regsvr32 "c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\FaderPort.dll" worked for me, but only after I did this:

80070005 denotes ACCESS IS DENIED error. You'll need to register the module from an elevated Command Prompt window. To open an elevated Command Prompt, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Not sure if this is fully resolved yet, so I'll put in my two cents.  Doing the above "works".  Do the above and when you get the terminal box go to the C:/Program Files/Cakewalk/Sonar X1/Shared Surfaces folder.  Then, at the prompt type regsvr32 faderport.dll

This will register the dll file in the win registry.  There are still a few functions on the FP that do not seem to work, I'm still going through it, but the major functions DO work.

Hope this helps someone.

Well - I had the Faderport installed on a system with 8.5 on it. Then I installed X1, and the Faderport would not work nicely with X1. What I did was completely remove the drivers (even cleaned up the registry using regedit), and then installed them again. That did the trick. Everything worked as expected.

At this time I am using a dual-boot system with 8.5 on one partition and X1 on the second one (well actually I have more partitions in use, but they are for Linux - wont bother you with that). As I am increasingly using only X1 I think I am going to erase the "8.5 partition" within a little while. I just wait for the X1b update and if this addresses the latest small niggles I have it is the end of that partition... but enough of that..

On the clean install the Faderport works exactly as expected. All buttons are behaving the same as in 8.5. Be sure to use the Faderport control surface entry on the setup, and the "USB Devices" as in- and output. If you have more than one controller make sure the Faderport is the last one. I also use the E-MU Xboard61 (nice cheap MIDI Keyboard with aftertouch and rotating controllers) and noticed when the Faderport was on top weird things where happening - don't ask why I really don't know.

Hope this helps a little..

For Win7 64bit:

Make sure you copy the DLL from the correct location to the stated path:
64bit is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PreSonus\FaderPort\FaderPort Dll\Sonar\x64

Copy to:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\

Then open command window (Run as Administrator):
cd C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Surfaces\
C:\windows\SysWow64\regsvr32 FaderPort.dll

Hi Everyone, I just bought a Faderport and am attempting to get it to work with Sonar X1 Producer and my Windows 7 machine. I followed the PreSonus set-up instructions and got all the way to step 2 before getting stuck. The instructions say to go to /Steinberg/(Cubase or Nuendo)/Components and open that folder. I only have a Steinberg folder so I guess this wouldn't work. I then read all the information in this section of the forum and attempted to follow the suggestions but kept getting error messages such as, "The module "Faderport.dll" failed to load." I confess I'm not much of a "techie" and am an official "old guy" so I'd sure appreciate any step by step instructions anyone could provide this fossil. Thanks! Mike

Presonus needs to add this post to their SONAR instructions.
