I have a track selected and when I go to create region FX/melodyne, the status window shows it's working, then upon completion, the melodyne editor window pops up on the bottom of the screen and then disappears, it's almost like there's a pop-up blocker killer working to kill the window. The same thing happens when I drag an audio file into a midi track. What is going on here? Thanks for your help.

have you tried closing the window ?
when I first ran ARA I was presented a greetings windows, for first useage.

what window? I'm in the track view, and then there's the bottom dock, that's where it appears and then disappears in a split second. There's nothing to close, it does it itself. I don't think the apply effect process is working because after it does it's thing, then kills the window, if I go to edit effect it's greyed out like nothing happened.
 

Does the standalone version run properly?

You mentioned your using "Melodyne Editor". Are you sure you have successfully activated it on your computer? 
 
Secondly, does the clip actually turn into a Melodyne Clip? It will say it along the header of the clip after you make it a Region FX.

Yep it's activated. No nothing happens, it tries to do it then quits.
