Hi,

Is there a way to find all overlapping MIDI clips?  Sometimes when creating copies by ctrl-dragging, I unknowingly create copies that end up covering each other and when I go back later to edit it in the piano roll, I have endless trouble removing notes before I realise that I have to midi clips on top of each other...

If you're talking about duplicated clips contianing the same material, you could just bounce them together and use the Undupe CAL to remove the dupes. I might not be necessary to bounce them first, but I'm not sure how Undupe handles multiple clips. Normally SONAR will not allow overlapping clips in the same lane, but doing a Copy-Paste without moving the Now time or changing the destination track is one way it can still happen.

I'm pretty sure if you have unbounced overlapping clips, undupe won't care a bit, provided they are all selected at track level.

I did a quick check; it doesn't see the same events in separate clips as being dupes.

Click the Take Lanes button in the lower left corner of the track header to expand lanes. I suggest you do this all the time. (I know in some situations Sonar creates a new lane even when clips aren't overlapped. Take Lanes are not very helpful IMO.)

Really?

Maybe this has changed over version revisions. I haven't used undupe for a while and I completely trust your findings.
