I've got a couple of those old Roland VS-2480 daws and i'd like to know if there's anybody out there able to tell me if it is possible to use them as controller surface in Sonar X3d Producer. Thanks...

yes, but only the 32 bit version... i am using the roland si-24 control surface with it and it rocks. there is no driver for the 64 bit version. i rigged it all up, using the rpc-1 card with the latest maudio delta drivers for windows 64 bit... then i had to get one of those startech pci to pci-e adapters and bang it all works great, sounds Yahsome, and the control surface works well. just download control surface drivers from the roland vs 2480 downloads page and your great to go.

You can go 64 bit.... You need a external midi to usb interface. Then get the latest M-audio driver and install. This will make the RPC-1 card work (audiowize). You will looze midi over R-bus. Replace this with midi I/O to usb. And install the SI-24 remote controll file and set it up (Hmmm wait a minute did that work?) Well, if that did not work I got it working with midi learn. Anyhow... It's working at my place...

Ah wait.... The DLL works in a 32bit install of Sonar on 64 bit windows. You need midi learn in 64 bit Sonar...

oh yes, that is true.... it is using the 32 version of sonar on windows 7 - 64 bit. i do run the si-24 using the midi hook ups because there is no midi transfer through the rpc-1 cable. works great.
