I'm the same way, but opposite: I use VRoom and can't bring myself to buy VVV because it seems redundant. According to Sean, VRoom was designed to be a "pure" reverb, free of artifacts, while VVV simulates the quirks of classic reverb algorithms to more accurately emulate vintage devices.
I use reverb one of two ways: either as a subtle thickener that's felt more than heard, or as an obvious special effect. In the former scenario, which reverb I use is
almost irrelevant, as long as it doesn't draw attention to itself. In the latter scenario, I want smooth, silky tails that sound good all on their own. VRoom does that really well.
That said, I do like the Valhalla Plate for vocals. But I'm guessing that would be even more redundant if you're using Vintage. If you really want to add something different, consider Shimmer. Its pitch-shifting regenerative feedback is unlike anything else in the Valhalla catalog.
