So I've been using the vintage verb a lot and picked that one, believing it to have the most variety, even over Valhallaroom.  Played with the demos quite a bit as well on all the products.
I'm not seeing the need for ValhallaRoom or Plate, as those were probably going to be my next purchases.  With the "current" setting on Valhalla vintage...seems to be very close.  That verb seems to cover basically all the bases.  Of course I'm sure Sean would disagree. :-)
Am I deaf or just trying to save myself $100?  ....and the differences once in a mix??   Yeah..solo instruments dripping wet make a case.....

Three new verb modes coming up for VVV.

I'm the same way, but opposite: I use VRoom and can't bring myself to buy VVV because it seems redundant. According to Sean, VRoom was designed to be a "pure" reverb, free of artifacts, while VVV simulates the quirks of classic reverb algorithms to more accurately emulate vintage devices.

I use reverb one of two ways: either as a subtle thickener that's felt more than heard, or as an obvious special effect. In the former scenario, which reverb I use is almost irrelevant, as long as it doesn't draw attention to itself. In the latter scenario, I want smooth, silky tails that sound good all on their own. VRoom does that really well.

That said, I do like the Valhalla Plate for vocals. But I'm guessing that would be even more redundant if you're using Vintage. If you really want to add something different, consider Shimmer. Its pitch-shifting regenerative feedback is unlike anything else in the Valhalla catalog.

Bit...Yes, I've played with shimmer, but probably wouldn't use it much after the first tune I use it on.

With the 3 setting choices on Vintage of 70's, 80's and "now(current)"...  as I was saying above, the "now" setting seems to [potentially] have less artifacts,.....thus making it closer to Valhallaroom?

Three MORE modes for vintage??    I'll be looking!  thx Fleer.

You're welcome. This is where I got it from: https://www.kvraudio.com/...2cf8f0b2aa9f8#p6617356
If you don't have the Lexicons it emulates, VintageVerb is a fine coloration companion to the clarity and transparency of FabFilter's Pro-L. Additionally, I do love Blackhole and especially Adaptiverb quite a bit, to take me where no one has gone before ;)

Is that a free update that adds those 3 modes?

You definitely get your money's worth with all of Sean's reverbs. VRoom and VPlate have 12 modes each, several of which were added after its initial release. Vintage has 15, six of which were added after initial release. If 3 more are about to be added, we'll just have to start complaining that the others are being neglected.

VRoom is filled up apparently. Back then he didn't think he would need that many slots.
Plate and VVV are still open for Vegas.
