HI,

I am pretty new to recording etc but after getting may hands on a Boss BR800 and Sonar LE I find myself struggling to get the recorded audio from the Boss BR800 into Sonar LE.  I have tried the steps from http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2497063 and can get the audio played back through the PC or using the Boss to control playback and record, Soanr seems to think that it should be recording but I cannot get any audio to come through.

Any thoughts ot ideas of what I can try next?

Welcome to the forum.
Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the BOSS and your operating system?

How do you have the BOSS connected to the computer? If you're trying to record a song that's on the BOSS into SONAR, you might want to look at the File Transfer function of the BOSS. Or connect an audio cable from the BOSS to the line in of the computer sound card and record in real time, 1 or 2 tracks at a time.
The BR 800 is an audio interface as well as a recorder, so you should be able to record into SONAR in real time, through the BOSS.

Hi Gregg,

Yes, I had to get the latest drivers as I am running Windows 8 and couldn't install with the drivers on the cd.  I have it connected via USB, I know it should work in this fashion and indeed had it working yesterday for a breif time, but can't remember how i did it.  The only thing I have changed is to connect to Sonar as a control interface, but even removing this had no effect.

Somewhat stumped at the moment.

OK, I finally figured out what I had done.  I added an audio track and set the input source as the BR800 stereo channel.  However if I try and use MIDI it won't pick up the audio from the BR800.

Maybe by design?

It is not a MIDI device, has no MIDI connections on it according to pictures of it I saw. It is strictly an audio device.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum. I just purchased  the boss br-800.
I am sure this is a case of my making some simple mistake or oversight .
I am running keyboard out to Br-800 in and getting strong signal on the unit track/ master meters (note:with rhythm fader down).
I then press "record/play" everything seems fine .
When I press play for playback, there is no signal output. my track play and record lights are lit.
At this point this is driving me nuts. I would be gratful for any quick help. thanks for your time and consideration.

Welcome to the SONAR forum.
Where does SONAR step in in your problem?

I find this part of the Sonar forums kinda 90% dead end threads, don't you? Look's like the original OP never returned.
I have answered a few questions here and the OP's never come back.
The above post is probably here because he Googled Boss BR 800 and this thread was dug up.

mtgbuyer1 you'll need to read your users manual, nobody here owns your device so how can we help you? This is a forum for helping people with Sonar software. Boss and Roland have very good manuals, most available on line to download as a PDF.
