There are times I'd like to hear my raw tracks without effects, without having to switch them all off at the individual tracks. Is there a way to turn all of them on/off with a single switch?

e on your keyboard will do that

Yep, look in the Toolbar next to the mute and solo buttons - there's one labelled FX.

Yup - 'E' will toggle on/off the Bypass All Effects functionality.
