All great ideas. Thank you fellow Cakewalkians or Sonarians (not sure which one I like better).

If you just click on the clip, it will export that exact clip and there will not be any blank space at the end or beginning, unless that clip has blank space in it

You may also want to "apply trimming" to each clip prior to export.

May I ask how you do this or be pointed to a reference please Craig.

P.S
Are you the Craig Anderton who wrote "Recording for musicians" way back in the early 80's?

In the Track View tabs, after selecting the clip choose Clips > Apply Trimming.

Yes, I'm that Craig Anderton...IIRC the first edition came out in 1976 or thereabouts.

Excellent!
Long time fan here then. I still have the book though it got soaked with some cold pressed peanut oil in a moving house accident and I have to keep in in the garage as it.s gone a bit rancid smelling but the pages are beautifully preserved.
Great to have you here as a resource.
I also got much from your articles, either Mix magazine or could of been EQ mag.
One I still use today is the synth  EQ effect using narrow band EQ boost around 6k on guitar.
It was the 80's. LOL
The mag dissapeared off the newsagent shelves in the early nineties.
I have seen plenty of reveiws and some CW sonar tutorials from Harmony Central over the years.
Thanks for being here and the answer!
Cheers
