Hi Folks,

I find the search feature in Sonar Media Browser lacking...  I thought it might be better to use windows file explorer's search index feature, that click on the C:\Cakewalk Content\Audio Library folder and in the upper right corner enter a keyword to list what I'm looking for, for example all files with the text that includes VOX in it...

I see a number of rx2 files listed and was wondering if there is some sort of codec plug-in to WMP or some standalone player to use or associate them so I can play them directly our of windows file explorer..

PS: Would be nice if Sonar could use the Search Index feature to quickly search for the list of files you want to use...

Yes in the Sonar media browser search is more like "filter" you can only "search" inside one folder which is next to useless! (they do advertise it as "Search filter" however which is a little crazy as it's really creating a filter here, not searching a filter!!).

You need an app to play .RX2 files, there maybe a utility out there but Sonar will play them.

You can search for .RX2 files within explorer such as

*bass*.rx2
*drum*.rx2

And then drag them into the Sonar window.
I would also strongly suggest (if you haven't already) organising your RX2 loops under a single parent folder.

Propellerheads Recycle and Kontakt are two standalone players for rx2 files that I know of.

Recycle is a great program, but at last look, quite overpriced for what it does.
