It's just usually the first thing that comes to mind when someone indicates it may be a time away from the project kind of error.

Since she indicated that she did make the changes, it would seem that they should have been changed anyway.  :)

It may well be something else than, or in addition to, the USB settings.

If it records and plays back, the only thing missing from that signal flow is the echo button, isn't it?

Remember that Sonar defaults to sending Local Control Off when it starts up, on the assumption that you will be using your controller with Sonar and don't want double-triggering. It is possible to defeat this if you want in the (IIRC) aud.ini file. However, I've left the default behavior, and if I want to hear the synth and Sonar isn't active, I turn on local control at the synth itself.

I believe you are thinking of SendLocalOff and SendLocalOn in TTSSEQ.ini

OK Thank yous were premature. I sat here and recorded a vocal and guitar track when I went to add some bass with the DM Pro I had no sound again when I play the keyboard.

OK - glad you had a nice dinner, sorry it is still acting up.  :)

Is it possible that your midi input echo on button is not lit for the DP midi track, when you are experiencing this problem?  (have to ask, sorry)

Sonar will, by default, automatically turn the midi Input Echo On button on or off when you bring a midi track into or out of focus.  (focus meaning selecting the track, so that the track number gets lit blue).  You can also turn Input Echo On on or off manually, or you can change the default behavior for it (I think you still can - I never change it but seem to think it is something you can do).

Anyways, make sure you have the midi Input Echo On lit for the midi track you have DP on.

Also, when this problem occurs, do other midi tracks produce sound if you bring them into focus and press notes on the midi controller?

And, are the notes you are playing on your midi controller within the range of notes for the bass instrument that is loaded?  (I sometimes get no sound for low notes played if I have a violin patch loaded in Kontakt and what I am playing is lower than the natural range of a violin).

Is the midi input for the DP midi track set to omni?  (is it set to some different controller than the one you are trying to play notes on?)

Do you see midi activity for the DP midi track when you play notes?

Hi Bob
So far no problems today. If it happens again I will look at the midi Input Echo On button and make sure that it's on. Thank you again!
