Hi all

I recently bought a Vamp pro and a Vamp bass pro.
I have been told I can control the sounds from it from the computer useing softwere.

Can anyone tell me what exactly I need to down load from behringer to do this I couldnt seem to find it or I have over looked it. ( sorry if it was obvious)

Also I was told it was controled through midi I have a VS700 with one midi in. I have my TD-20 in that so I would need more Midi inputs to conect it up to save me being in and out of my rack all the time.

Any advice on how to go about geting more midi inputs hooked up ?

Thanks to all in advance :)

According to the Behringer website: "MIDI implementation includes program changes, control changes and SysEx, allowing complete MIDI automation through our free Windows editor software downloadable at www.behringer.com".

You can get the editor software and firmware updater here:

Regarding MIDI, the MIDI-In on your VS700 might be OK for the V-Amp, but you'll need a MIDI-out in order to use the editor software to control the V-Amp. Does the TD-20 have a MIDI-Thru you can use?

If you want to control both V-Amps, you'll need to get a new MIDI interface like the Cakewalk UM-3G Multiport.

Thanks for the reply I will get the firmwere and the windows down load one in the morning.

The TD-20 has a in on it and an out/thru http://www.google.co.uk/i...amp;ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0

I dont know much about midi tbh

I could do with out both the vamps runing at the same time but need the TD-20 and one Vamp runing and being able to control it via mid

Would I still need the Midi interface for that ?

I have the TD-20 going out to the in put on the Vs700 to trigger my Superior drummer.

The VS-700 has an in out and thru

I am confused now :S

If I have this right

My Vamp is controled going to the Vs700 vi analof left and right I have it set up that way.

So I could have a midi going from the out on the VS700 back to the Vamp pro and that could then use the editor software to control the V-Amp ?

And my midi in could still have my TD-20 ?

Hmmmmmm I really am confused I know not much about the way midi works

Thanks for anyhelp on this

You said that you use the TD-20 to trigger your drums, and that it's connected to the VS700. So that means that the VS700 has a MIDI-out port available (not the MIDI-in).

So you might be in luck. You could connect the MIDI-out on your V-Amp to the MIDI-in on the TD-20, which will then be passed to the VS700 with the TD-20 Midi-Out/Thru. Then connect the MIDI-out on the VS700 to the V-Amp MIDI-in.

After you install the V-Amp editor software, you'll need to identify which MIDI ports you are using with the V-Amp, and you will select the VS-700 MIDI ports.

Please let us know how it works out.

Hey Bristol good to hear from you!

I have no Idea what the Eproms are (Ive never heard of them)

I am game for anything though if you point me in the right direction I will give anything a bash :)

An Eprom is, I believe, an Eraseable, Programmable, Read Only Memory chip.
They state, "If you do not have the means to write this datafile to a blank EPROM, then you can order a pre-programmed EPROM from your nearest BEHRINGER authorised service centre."

If you haven't the means to write data to one of these chips, I'd leave well alone to be honest mate. There's one available for my Bass V-Amp, but when you weigh up the pros & cons of buying a chip, the chance of it not working or completely trashing the unit, against the sounds that we already have, I think I'll give it a miss.

I'm going to follow your progress on Midi automation and see how you get on with it before taking the plunge.

Have you downloaded the Editor software yet?

Haha I just googled it there after I asked you

I havfenet had a chance to try the Editor yet. I am guessing you havent tryed it yet your self ?

I have a docs appointment in 15 mins so I am going to go run in the snow to that

When I get back I am going to take the TD-20 out the equasion and use the 2x midi leads I have to try and set up at least one vamp right that way then the other

I will let you know how I get on if you like ?
