For me, it was the depth control (maybe it was called distance?).  Notice that there seemed to be zero explicit control over early reflections.  Instead, there appears to be a algorithm that adjusts early reflection content appropriately as to whether you want things up front or in the rear.

Isn't "depth" just an alternate label for what other reverbs call "predelay" or "early/late"? Maybe they've found an extra parameter we don't know about, or their depth control also applies a LPF or something. Won't know till we get our hands on it. I know you're looking forward to doing just that ;)

Darn, why do they make their GUIs so beautiful and beguiling??
That video voice over has also worked on me....
Edit: it's apparently this chap, Dan Worrall:

Both predelay (for which it looks like Pro-R allows explicit control) and ER levels are part of the alchemy (and EQ is also in the picture).  Use longer predelay for front placement and higher level ERs for rear placement.  It's not clear whether Pro-R's depth control does anything with predelay, but since there seems to be no way to control ER levels (or ER/tail balance), it seems safe to assume that depth at least has an impact on ER level.

If FF has nailed making it easy to dial in believable front/back perception ... then sweet!  Can't wait to try it out.

I'm a big FF fan, but how can this thing be worth $199?
Why jump into a saturated market at that price point?
Of course, I'll give it a 30 day whirl...

Even at my FF discounted price of $119, I'm going to have to wait on this one.  Looks good though.

Ditto. $119 would complete my Valhalla collection and still leave enough for lunch.

I am madly in love with this! Used it properly on a new mix tonight and I didn't waste my money at least
