I recently added Melodyne in Sonar Platinum's Utilities as an external wave editor.  I think I like it this way as it loads faster for me and I get full functionality (I usually have the FX button on in Sonar when tracking and fixing things, this also turns off Melodyne's audio when moving the note blobs.).
Question:
Even though a vocal may be sectioned in a Take Lane, if I select only a section of the wave  to be opened in Melodyne externally, Melodyne opens with the entire wave for that take and not just the section I want to edit.

I can find what I want to edit then Export - Cycle Range but it's more steps.

Is there a way to import only the section I want to edit?  Thanks.

You lose out on all the benefits of ARA which is a important to get access to all the data in the file.

You don't have to convince me of the benefits of ARA.  I setup Melodyne externally for speed.  For whatever reason on this particular project Melodyne is loading slowly when launched within Sonar (30-45 sec).    I've tried it on other much larger projects and its launching speed is not an issue.  Hmmm...
