Really sad to see this, and it just shows how bad we can be in appreciating a lot of different music.
NIO SINGLE MAGAZINE EVER, mentioned as much music, and from so many countries as that one did, and to even read the discussions that Richard Pinhas, or Artemiev and others allowed to have posted in there, only shows how different and intelligent some of the music was, and how well thought out it had been put together. It is also, the greatest study of the art form that goes as far back as 1967 and 1968. with groups like OSANNA, and in places like Czechoslovakia, where the music was used as a theater, before it became .. rock'n'roll, and unfortunately, for many of us here, the only thing we can listen to is .... rock'n'roll ... because there is no ear for anything else! Even the so-called "krautrock" had some of its start within a theatrical context and art shows.
After all this time, it's hard to believe that we still do not see a connection, and continually separate the two ... and this is the thing that folks like GENESIS, MARILLION and others came from ... but we still don't get it!
It didn't start there, but things like Elvis, were more related to movies in their presentation and design of the music, than they were ... rock'n'roll ... per se!
This is not all ... just about the songs you know! This is about the advent of music, for which the electrical guitar and synthesizers, in many ways, were the 2 most important parts of it all, if we decide that people are not important and stupid, and their fight for freedoms in Europe are just some sort of crap that fans don't want to hear!
