Turn off autozoom with shift+Z. Autozoom will cause all sorts of unexpected behaviour when resizing tracks.

To then minimize all tracks select all, hold the shift key down and drag minimize one of them.

How about this? Hit Ctrl+A, then hold Shift and drag up/down the track border. Someone mentioned this already?

Yes, that will do it, thanks!

And I find no value at all in the ability to resize track folders. I only use them for organizational purposes, and the occasional folder-based solo and mute. I wish there was a way to tell Sonar that I never want folders to be any taller than the minimum. (Unrelated wish: I wish I could tell Sonar not to show the "Clip summaries" along the track folder. That just confuses me no end, as they look exactly like regular clips.)

Try to right click on the trackfolder and click on "lock track height".
Minimize the folder first

That is already checked. Un-checking it doesn't seem to have an effect.
