I've been trying to get the PC4k exp/gate to be seen in PC. The installation goes as normal and it copies the files but does not write it in the registry. I installed the 64bit version for X3 Pro 64. Has anyone had this problem. I still have X2 32bit installed and it's in there no issue.

Any help is appreciated.

I do not have the 32bit version installed. I assume that the 64bit VST scanner has been run since the installation. When you say it is not in the registry are you saying it is not in the VST inventory, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\PC4KExpGate\1.0 is missing or something else? Was the install run as administrator?

Yes I scanned and ran the install as admin. here is a pic of the inventory vst 32bit reg entry and the inventory vst 64bit where it should be written to.

Is X3 really installed in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalkx3"?
Is the PC4KExpGate dll is in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalkx3\Shared Utilities\Internal\PC4kGate"?
Does the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\PC4KExpGate\1.0 exist?
Is there another 64bit version of SONAR installed on this machine? If so where?
Does the scan path in the plug-in manager (not the list in preferences) show the location of the internal folder?
What values are listed in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\SONAR Producer\Cakewalk VST\VSTInternalPath"?

Thanks for offering your help scook. I was having other issues with X3d not just with the pc4k exp gate not installing. I also had x2 on my pc as well. I decided to uninstall both versions, all my plugs, clean out the registry and directories and start clean. X3 and all plugs are installed. (64bit x3 and 64bit plugs) So far all is well except with Cakewalk TTS-1 and Roland GrooveSynth1. I don't know why but all I get is static noise out of both of them. All instruments are distorted. I noticed this problem before I did a clean install. I don't know if anyone is having the same issue with these two softsynths but I'd like to find out why they don't work. In X2 they worked fine. Thanks scook.

Probably running at a high sample rate. The GrooveSynth does not like high sample rates at all. TTS-1 needs to have "Light Load Mode" set every time the project is opened to work properly at high sample rates. To get to the "Light Load Mode" setting, open the TTS-1 UI, click the system button, then the Options button on the "System Settings" dialog, then open the Options tab in the Options dialog.

Ah ok that explains it then. I'm at 96k on this project. I'll have to test it at 24k. thanks.

That was it. Tested in a 24bit project and it works fine. You know you're your stuff. thanks.

Been a longstanding problem with those two synths. They work best at 44k sample rate.
