What OS and bit depth are you running? Which version of X3 are you trying to run? The 32 bit or the 64 bit?

What operating system are you using?
Or actually, it should not matter anyway, XP is Win32 as well (if 32 bit :o/, so is Vista), but X3 should run with that. "Not officially supported" does not mean it doesn't work.

Have you installed the right version of SONAR?
32 bit SONAR can be run in a 64 bit Windows, but a 64 bit SONAR doesn't run in 32 bit Windows.
Then again, is it possible to install 64 bit version in a 32 bit OS...I don't know.

Did you try "Run as administrator"? Starting from Win7 there's an annoying amount of tasks you need to do as admin. It's not only annoying, it's also a data security problem.

Actually, I don't think the installer will install X3 if the OS is XP.

The installer will NOT work on XP.  There are Microsoft run-time components that do not exist for XP, and only show up in Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.  (Sonar appears to still run on Vista, but its days are certainly numbered).

The question of the day remains - what OS version are you running on your computer?

You are having system-specific issues, and nobody here can help you if you do not tell us more about your system.

This has nothing to do with the installer. That message occurs only when invoking the SONAR executable.

One of two things is happening: either the OP is attempting to run the 64-bit executable, or the exe file is corrupt.

im on xp and all is good here
i cant go 64bit.

i did a research i finally unpacked the setup.exe and all the bin files. with innounp.exe
i have all files non installed.
but there's only SONARPDR,1.exe and SONARPDR,2.exe files
,1 and ,2 i think its only for language files, not 32 or 64.
but whatever, both when i execute them say that message "Sonarpdr.exe is Not a Valid Win32 Application"

which IM already on win32! strange.  is there any difference between vista win32 and xp win32 ? both should work ?

usually there's 2 version Sonarpdr.exe. 1 for 32 and 1 for 64.  where is the 32 version now ?
