HOLY CRAP!  I downloaded and installed the new drivers.  before the new drivers I was unable to playback anything with a softsynth or FX in it with less than 256 buffers and usually had to go to 512 or even 1024 on large projets.

I just played a project with DimPro at 64 samples!!!  awesome!  thanks MOTU!

The firmware upgrade instructions had a specific set of instructions for the original ultralite, the one that I have and for the hybrid. I assumed based on the three sets of update instructions that the firmware update was for all versions of the ultralite.

Just checked again and the one that I downloaded is no longer listed on the site. They may have pulled that update.

Thanks for the info peoples.... might have to check for the 8Pre... maybe wipe the dust of it with those sort of latency reports.

I am trying to update an Ultralite that I'm borrowing from a friend also. It's not the Mk3, it's the Mk2 (the original, but w/Firewire?)

The firmware is 1.15 and I'm currently on v1.01 (unless 'Loader v1.01' means something else? Anyway; when I run the program, it doesn't acknowledge the presence of any devices :(

Could it possibly be an oversight in it not recognising the hardware due to the recent drivers?
