Can the Edirol FA-66 have 2 guitarists recording/playing at the same time through SONAR X1?  I use ASIO.  I heard it can only use 1 at a time.

Does it have to guitar inputs (or two channels both capable of handling the impedance needed for guitars)? There is your answer then.

I say's 6 in and out.
The reason they said 1 is only in the case of plugging in directly. But there are many other options to use the other inputs with guitar. DI box, Mixers, Mike the amps.
Looks like  1 &2 are set up for mikes and with only #2 for hi Z instruments too.  
It's undetermined if a guitar plugged directly into #1 would work but chances are yes by adjusting the sens. An active DI box would be a good way to use this.
Inputs 3- 4 are RCA which you could also use with a mixer or some sort of pre amp,
Inputs 5 and 6 must be the digital.
My M audio fast track called itself 6 in but this was not true as the digital and 3&4 could not be used together. Yours is possibly the same.
So you can record 4 channels live in one pass with the addition of 2 more pre amps ( mixer)
6 might be possible.
