Link is in my comments further down. I couldn't fix this one.
hot off the press. But edited as of Nov 3 thanks to the generous comments.
Reduced panning, reduced compression, reduced verb and delay, eq'ed bass for clarity.
posted for comments.
Thanks guys.

I'd say your playing is pretty darn tasty! Neat parts. But I think there is so much going on with tricky hard panning and delays that it's obscuring some of the "realness" and that's what I'm missing.

Singing works for me, I like your bgv's too.

I think you could safely make the bass a little fuller, it might weight it down some. For me the extreme hard panned guitar kept pulling my ears to the edges of the stereo spectrum.

Great comments Tom. I never thought about the hard panning being a distraction  but i think you are right.
Much appreciated.

Man, I like this one a lot! Very slick song with a sweet arrangement and a bunch of high quality and quite fun performances all around. Vocals are just great. I also totally dug the lead work, very sweet licks indeed. I agree with Tom's panning comment with the caveat that it might work better if the guitars on either side followed the same strum rhythms so that there's less ping-ponging going on, particularly at the beginning where so much seems to be happening; a more focused approach could help pull me into the vibe more quickly.

I also agree with the comment on the bass, which is played very nicely, by the way, but would benefit I think from a warmer eq. I would add that at the beginning of the song the lead guitar is perhaps a bit in your face. Overall though, this is a really cool and very creative song. Thanks!

great lyrical twist - I really liked it. Recording wise I think the final master maybe a bit over compressed?

Just listened to the revised version...  sounds pretty good here!   No panning anomalies that I can hear - nicely balanced and mixed.    I really liked the chord changes, though they (and the lead fills) sound more like Steely Dan to me than a typical blues song IMO.

Thanks for checking back Steve,
I do like Steely Dan.
Yeah they are more jazz chords than blues.

whack
Pretty well executed and the song flow and grooves.

Could do with a touch more dynamic in some places, seems fairly compressed?
