See how debate seems to project perspectives of differing state of mind and thoughts of disfunction?...This is a debate on..Pro Tools Vs Sonar.
Again how does one define them?, if one does not use gauges of standard measure? or measure or truths? or some form of Perfection in those tools found to be standard, or measure of lies and those standards Proclaimed?..or all or none?....and if the defining truth is flawed.. Definition being what?..."Standards meaning what?"...stability...reliable working ethics...If found in some form of dis-function, How can one base a Profession earning in Work ethic, if no standard is standard for long enough periods?.
Hence Technology keeps changing...moving in what direction?...and with that unknown coming and going all the time, to make change happen to make more things sold for or against some form of standard to never arrive in such platform....the Expert is no longer one...he or she become the student again.
I made a point that is somewhat true...and as far as I know Truth is with it, to some degree...and so I use the Vegetative thought process to answer the odd question to the best odd way I can...that support the now.
And as I said computers keep changing...what once was high end and new, becomes old and unsupported eventually over time, and or dies out for the new best thing on the lawn sale floor.
Now if one bases the work and income on this..COMPUTER...it is a sure thing that money as income becomes outcomes Lost when one has to buy new continually and troubleshoot to make it work properly, if at all, under some method, standard rule, and function...and this is business with them also....but when said gear, software, and Operations are ****ed by a Bug issue somewhere in that as a constant...noted by all camps.
Is it wise to use one in that employment venture as a standard?, or does one use many to accomplish what one may not..or can not....And in that...cost to make it usable dependant on income or clients...in Avids terms is to buy their gear...which can be expensive...So income is used...now a business is suppose to bring in Income...if it is constantly outsourcing the income and more out of pocket, to make the profession work, and it limits the clients it can support...well their is another ethic of income being lost...and this is Professional or Pro at the helm?...in my understanding of that ethic of Profession, I see a big downturn, when that Process is flawed by the computer system and its bought into Parts failing...or in need of updating, which can cause mayham with all things based upon that...which if the system is made exclusive to one product line can be damaging to that income sought by the professional...which make that person not a professional at all in terms or work ethic or income coming in as it should or could when siding to one side or the other, with out seeing clear that none are totally reliable 100%, and they cannot be if updates and fixes are with them , and the base platform.
And in that it is not Professional Practice of a Profession to put something like this as a tool that may or may not continue to work 100% in line to make income of some expectations, or before earning any income.
That would be more Professional a Profession to take note of.
So backups come into play...We have some old stuff that still works, like tape base recorders, and such...see.
And one who has these things still working...when something else does not work...and this has happened with a studio I was going to....it closes down the show if that was the only thing availible...client goes else where...income lost.
That is not good business Practice to waste time and money on things that cannot become a Standard Yet...nor is it progress towards Professional practice in terms of the definition of Pro gear for industry if industries/technologies/trends needs keep changing what that should be...So in that..When making claims and statements to being something as a standard in, something that has none, to be as constant, or keeps changing the standard rule of thumb to gain in technologies and better stability or work ethic or product perfection....it is called a lie..... and things based on Lies or errors lose out, when found in such states....and or..is hexed...and or is in error...with this error in tongue and cheek...it filters down into the machine symbolically speaking...and thus my unexpected kind of thought process begins to take notation of...BUGS!...bad code/math/ or lies put in/ in the code to fix or cover up that lie..or to make exception for error=patch.
Now all professionals use a ruler = standard...and that standard ruler should be more prefect in its measure...so error is averted when using it...which makes a more perfect state of Profession.
Who uses a unreliable ruler to measure a line that needs to be straight and perfect?..who uses a un-straight edge to draw a straight line?
So if the tool is constantly being upgraded, and OS is also, most likely causing change to occur, to perfect or cause change or allow change to occur in it self, and gear,... and technology comes and goes...buying into something that locks down that system or work station to only allow it to run that Product line...is limiting the tool bases available, limiting the Professional, and Business practices, and clients it should be able to serve Perfectly.
So to my understanding of a Music Studio being some what a manner of employable interests..As there is a market for Music, and some are trying to do with computers and such...Something has to be hashed out that will accommodate that making and recording of it, so it can be packaged and sold...even that is now changing= the method to sell a product!
And there are many means to do so, not all are computer based...and that leaves open options as backup plan B, and C and so on...if one is crafty about it, they never see a down time in that studio...cause they covered all the bases...and then some.
Now to my mind , that is a more professional out look to take...in this time of change...and which DAW and computer base is not changing?...are we seeing truth Yet?...sonar x1-x3d and still it has issues...same with Pro Tools being the industry "standard" ?...Yep...and so...that is where I feel, the words uttered and used mean nothing...and the claims mean nothing...what works for the moment, and what choice taken if any, or take all, just to make sure..if you are planning to gain income from any...always have a back up plan.
That Is more Professional when working with tools that are not constant, or reliable 100% of the time..as good measure builds stronger level houses...as does truth...and being perfect in ethic when using these things brings greater long lasting Practices to the door.
And that would/should make good or better practice of being Profession... also trouble shooting new problems or problems as they arise...a computer Expert should know this, and we have them because those things do occur... do arise!...and another truth is with me.
So you see the lie, cause employment...it seems...and so I say they leave the lie there, so more employment can be made fixing it..or covering it up...or ignoring it, so there is always a issue...and a change coming to cost more and more..to make it work.
And we all know there are Issues with PCs and Macs...So should we wash the Goats, or pluck the chickens? or keep feeding the cows, knowing somewhere down the road it leads to a dead end eventually..or just play along for fun?..or make a tool that works as standard...I believe Avid tried.
Now in terms of Plugs...all of them were based on hardware...or sort of...and if hardware can be emulated as software...then Avid cut their throats in making their hardware a standard.
Now you see another point of truth?....and that hardware is becoming redundant...and so wasted time, and money in Business...industry suffers who bought in....and down time to change..if they did not see or foresee the future, or the trend of computer based platforms...equation of forethought or foresight...
it is evolving...it is always in a state of flux....it cannot be made a standard..as it has no boundries...it works , it some times does not work...it is perfected every so often..it is rethought as things progress....
It has to change to make it better...and it is getting better some ways...and in other circles it is getting worse.
So a give and take in that ideal...if truth was incorporated into it properly with the best parts available R&D to maximum performances and tested religiously, and the highest ethic in making the best of the best product for it...I would imagine it to be more a standard of merit, and longer lasting, working flawlessly with out any issues.
But that is not how the Cash COW works or functions...it need error, to make employment of variables...
Same with a lawyer..if there is no crime or broken law, or confusion causing disputes...There is no need for one!
And so Profession could be based on errors made by the economy or the people or the industry, so there can be employment in many fields pertaining to that error....Computer Expert is one..and I still say that one is still a student...wink.
