Thank you for the partial confirmation. Probably the software that reacts to the mouse has some part in it as well.

Sir Les
Thanks Bvideo...

I never thought of that view....Perhaps moving backwards with the mouse to a more primitive state might help my end aswell.??..But I bought a high enough ended CPU/MB/Memory/video, base to cope with them requests, ....So should more interrupt report rates be a issue?, when The machine is streamlined and powerful enough to cope...hmmm?
I will try a old regular Logitech scroll mouse...and put the weights in it some how to make it heavier....

But here we can all say, It does matter what perifs are in use....in order to gain a stable , reliable, and functioning properly DAW system.
And by putting all our heads together...We solve problems.

Seems there is also some glitch with video mouse code in X3....I think that might also be part of the pie.

So let us hope X3c helps others.

Be well.

I use a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse and have the same issues with the
jumpy faders/buttons ....and the wheel works everything fine.

The CPU overload is related to VST 3, mostly with Waves plugs...I had one instance
where I inserted a single instance of the FET Compressor VST 3 and X3b crashed and burned.

These are X3 related.  X2 does not do this....I updated mouse drivers, video drivers,
etc...and the problem persisted...

Hope X3c gets it resolved...

Now I know this is something introduced in X3, because I had the M510 for a couple of years and used it on X1 and X2 with no problems, but hopefully it will give the developers some clues on what to look for.

Sir Les
I was having problems with cpu spikes in X2a...and did all kinds of troubleshooting...All along, never suspecting the little gaming mouse could be a root or instigator....So it is not only with X3....
I did however solve some of that spiking by removing External Western Digital My Books from the system, and a UAD card...and that seemed to settle things down so no glitches ended up in my recordings.
DO I still see Spikes in X3...Yes I do, Do they come into the recordings?...Well we are still testing that out.

So it is not only in X3...persay...it is only being noticed more in X3 by more people.

Just saying

Hi all, in the previous thread, there was a mention of clicks, pops, cpu spikes etc... (similar to issues referred to here)

ok this is what i have found...

i believe this has nothing to do with the issues of gaming mices. In the offending Project i opened, every time the mouse moves over the clips area and tracks area these clicks and pops occur. HOWEVER, this occurs ONLY when ProChannel is expanded. if ProChannel is closed and yet remains active (or ProChannel is disabled expanded or not does not matter), moving the mouse over any area of Sonar and or out of Sonar playback will be as smooth as can be.

again the clicks and pops issue occur on different projects and it doesnt seem to be related to anything specific. This offending project has only 1 instance of Kontakt, 3 instruments loaded and 2 bus outs. On other bigger projects, with up to 7 bus outs, multiple Kontakts instances + others, i have not experienced similar issues.  All my previous projects were created with X1d.

hope this help guys...

cheers!!!

I filed a report when I first saw the issue.  Haven't heard back from anyone though.

I have problems with the mouse... but not the glitches you are talking about.

I think what I had was two separate issues.  I had the mouse issue that you have, the video glitches I think were from a corrupt project.  I don't see it happening in any other project but one of mine.  Unfortunately it was the most recent one I was working on.

For the mouse issue, are you using a Logitech mouse?  if so is it optical or laser?

I had a terrible mouse problem with X2 at the beginning.  My wireless (usb) mouse worked fine everywhere except in Sonar.  In Sonar it would start behaving more and more erratically until it no longer worked at all, in or out of Sonar.  I finally moved the USB thing from the tower on the floor to my monitor and the problem went away.

I've wondered since what Sonar can possibly be doing TO the mouse.  Isn't it just supposed to read it ?  I suspect something related to touch, but have no idea what.
