Hi...I have been a Sonar user since the stone age,but there are a couple of small problems I am having with X3d...

1) When I bounce to tracks, the first part of the initial transient (like the attack on the first drum beat) is missing....This has never occured in any previous version of Sonar and I have been using that feature all of the time...I have tried many suggestions, but the problem still remains...The techs tell me that it is probably to do with my hardware, but this is the same hardware that I used with Sonar X2 with no problems......Any ideas what is causing this ?

2) When I audition a MIDI drum groove and press play,I get the MIDI file playing  a piano and not Superior Drummer...This has also never happened before...

I'd like to say that Sonar X3d is completely stable, but I can't because there's a couple of things that still need to be sorted out

If anybody has any ideas on how these problems can be sorted out,it would be greatly appreciated...Thanks...ajw

Regarding 1), what are you bouncing, an audio track or a midi track?

A few thoughts spring to mind.

If the audio/midi start time is at measure 01:01:000 you might want to insert a couple of blank measures at the start of the project. Sonar has always had trouble "picking up" data that starts precisely at the beginning of the project.

If it's midi driving a soft synth, try freezing instead of bouncing

Right-click the Media tab in the Browser, and select Superior Drummer as your synth preview output. In conneciton with this, I've noticed some of the drum clips have events on channel 1, so if the preview synth is TTS-1 or some other synth that has drums only on channel 10, you're not going to hear drums with those clips.

Thanks for the replies guys...I will try everything to get things working :)

I am trying to bounce tracks that include Audio,MIDI and soft synths...

I have only had this problem in X3d - not in any other version of Sonar....

And I have been a Cakewalk user since Pro Audio 9....

EDIT : I inserted Superior Drummer and the Media Tab was set to that as the preview...

It was the only synth inserted and I still got a piano playing the MIDI groove preview :(

check the track routing, maybe its going to ms general midi...

The track routing is correct...

No matter what I try to do,I get a piano playing the MIDI audition- even when there is only Superior Drummer inserted...

When I import the MIDI,it triggers the drums just fine, but I need to audition the MIDI grooves before I load them into the track...

It used to work fine and then something changed
