Thanks for the reply's.
My "system" is Dual core pc-> usb connected M-Audio Fast Track Ultra (ASIO) for audio inputs and also the outputs from X3 to a stereo amp. I have only got BFD Eco and no other VSt's apart from whatever x3 has. but I'm only opening a new project, inseerting a soft synth (Eco) and trying to program the drums to play a simple loop.
I only want to write my own drum tracks so I'm not using loops. In standalone, BFD can only play loops, loops loaded in standalone mode all play in time, mouse click hits have no latency. The mouse click hit when opened within x3 as a vst are very laggy. I noticed that when installed, Eco has a 32 bit and 64 bit version, I can open either in stand-alone mode, but only the 32 is visable in the soft synth menu.
I think the audio interface was a good one but part of a bad batch based on it's serial number, I have had this confirmed in M-Audio forum. Hence I was given it several years ago when a guy upgraded it and he said it was worthless. It takes a while to switch on and get your pc to recognise it has been connected. Once connected with reason essentials it is flawless, but I hated reason drums, hence my demo-ing x3 and buying BFD Eco.
As I am using the M-Audio device I presume my internal PC sound card is irrelevant? I know it's a crappy old sound blaster.
I'll be able to get back onto my PC tonight and I'll check All sample rates, bit depth, and round trip latency. I will also see if I can program a simple bar for one of the other soft synths using the piano roll without the timing problems/issues.
Thanks again.
