Decided to put this on its own thread in order to keep it specific and not get dragged into other discussions.

I have a project called "Catanya Crash Project"  All I had to do previously was open the project and hit space bar and my PC cratered hard.  It has 3 instances of Catanya triggering Rapture, Dim Pro and RGC.  The project also has Jamstix playing a beat.

I opened it up hit space bar on a 16 bar loop and have been playing with it non-stop for 30 minutes.  Not even a hiccup.  Changed sequence patterns on the fly, changed synth patches, opened and closed multi-dock....Beeeyouteefull.

I then added a single separate midi track and changed the input to Catanya-1, Catanya-2 and Catanya-3.  Each time when I hit record, Sonar only recorded the midi produced by the appropriate Catanya Arp instance.

I then added 3 midi tracks and made each record catanya 1, 2 and 3 simultaneously and it worked perfectly.

I have seen grumblings about other arps and synths, but I can say that so far, IMHO, when it concerns Catanya, x-talk and crash seems to be fixed in X3d.

Thank you bakers.

What happens when you select Catanya 1/2/3 - OMNI for each MIDI input. Each track still should only record MIDI from the selected Catanya port.

Actually, here is an even better test:

Using your original configuration with 3 Catanya instances and having the inputs selected for the individual MIDI channels like you did originally, add another MIDI track and configure it to record from an external MIDI keyboard. Start recording from the MIDI keyboard. Make sure to play some of the same note values as what the Catanya plugins are sending out. Hold the keys on the keyboard down for a bar or two to make sure you will notice any cut off notes.

Does it still cut off MIDI notes recorded from the external MIDI keyboard?

Midi Omni is the same recorded data as Midi channel 1.  If I select midi channel 2....nothing records.  Exactly as it should.

FYI...I never use midi Omni, I always jsut use channel 1.

I will try the test you mention above.  When we test sub sea fiber optic cables, we call these signal independence tests !

Just tried it a few times....midi keyboard on 4th midi track does not show up on any other midi recorded channel.

Nor does it cut off or overwrite any of the ARP notes coming from Catanya on other midi channels.

Looking good !!  Signal independence seems to be working !!

Awesome stuff, thank you Cake indeed !

I don't have Catanya, but it's working quite well so far with the musiclab stuff and others.

There are a few other really good fixes too.

Cheers - Cliff

Can one of you guys help !!!! Ins and outs explained with Catanya as Im still having teething problems -ie I have 3 instances of Catanyta routed fine but then when I add say a 4 th synth (Sylenth for a Bass riff i want to record ) it plays the first Catanya midi even with input echo off so I must be doing something in error  .

Many Thanx in advance :)

Not sure I follow...

Are you trying to trigger Sylenth, (the 4th synth), from one of the three Catanya instances mentioned, or a 4th instance of catanya ?

Sorry yes I wasn't clear ,the bass is separate not triggered by Catanya . Also opened True Piano and that was the same . I think I need to put these on seperate Midi channels ?
