Hello all. I'm a bit new at X1, but kinda get it. My problem is when I make a EZ Drummer track. When I complete it, and open an audio track to record my guitar, the drum track records on that track along with any audio I record. I have never had this problem before. It does it whether I leave it midi, or convert it to audio. I spent 12 hours yesterday pulling my hair out . HELP!!! LOL. I run windows 8.

Sir Les
What is the PC setup for recording specifications and gear used by you?

Is there a option in the sound card options to "record what you hear?"

What method of recording are you using?
example: microphone for acoustic Guitar? electric guitar Direct or mic'd amp, or direct amp? Input? USB?..ect...check the mixer applet for your audio device, to make sure nothing is crossed over, or sent to Aux...?

Are you using speakers for the drum playback or head phones?

just some things to think about...you may solve it on your own...but once you post more info...well people can help, the more you reveal.

As for 12 hours of pulling hair out....that could be a condition a Doctor should be notified of....But my solution may not be your solution....Need mead?....well LOL...with you it may not be a option?.

Yes, using an onboard sound with input set to "What You Hear or "Stereo Mix" in the software mixer will cause the output to be monitored and recorded. You need to use the Mic or Line input option.

Thanks everyone. I have been through every driver and preference options on my computer. It just will not work right. I could open 5 fresh audio tracks, arm them, and the drums go to them. I cant record any guitar or vocal on a blank track. I give up.

SO, please post back with exactly what audio device you are using for your system.  As was pointed out, there may be a setting tweak that might fix your trouble, if you are indeed running with the on-board sound.  Please look again at post #4 above.
