Bob I have looked in the advanced power management twice...there is no batteries on this system running a cpu....so that link is misleading...and thus it is for laptops.

As usual Bob is right, you clearly haven't read the article I shall throw it in front of your Nose:

There are a lot of things that can be customized. If you have a laptop, netbook or tablet, you have two settings that can be configured for each item included in the power plan: "On battery" and "Plugged in". If you have a desktop, there will be only one setting available for each item included in the power plan.

If you want to set up a power plan for your desktop, that article is extremely useful, esp the processor state bit. And did you turn off intel speed step (I can't remember?).

Sir Les
Well,... isn't that tweak for the plugin pro channel bug noise issues?...I do not have that problem....yet.
I have however followed the advice in the other win install...and it did nothing for me....Just saying AlexS....techs do not have all the answers...sometimes it is us Blogs that find solutions to our Problems the hard way....and this is the hard fact with this...I have been troubleshooting it for months with win 7 x1 and x2 and now x3c with tweaks to counter the cpu issue and dropouts and high buffers and settings to stop clicks, pops, and such....Possibly caused by inpoper installation of plugins possibly and software perhaps...Now a new win 7 build and properly installed software.. I am still having issues with cpu spikes....in sonar x3c with no plugins added to what sonar defaults with on the pro channel.

I will turn it off...but as it did nothing before, I see no reason to believe it will do much now....But there we go...I will comply AlexS with your suggestions till the fix comes....testing testing...

And It should be me in fits of rage...not you AlexS...as I have invested big bucks here...and I am crying on the inside...but meading consumption keeps me smiling!

Cheers!

At least you aren't out there spending money in the sale, and no there's been lots of problems that have been identified with 64 bit precision, best turn it off and as you say it does little :)

Alex - I could care less anymore.  We have spent WAY too much time trying to help someone who already has all the answers.

Thank you for posting the article he OBVIOUSLY did not read.

To Sir Les - why don't you fix the title to this thread, since it has NOTHING to do with Sonar having issues?  It would be the appropriate thing to do.

Done

Sir Les
Hay...that is enough of that...I have posted my bois settings many times and told other to turn off speed stepping...Freak...Like I said, Your making my day...AlexS.

In Bois I have turned off Plug and play...thus the bios dictates to the os the setting I put in it....so win 7 has to use all cores and all thread I set up in bios...unless win 7 does not comply...which is should.

So..when in sonar all cores are present and working to 100% as far as I know.

I will re read the link...but I do not see anything in basic power management advanced or Performance selection choices under that title..for my cpu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11...only the fan for the cpu has a setting here or in that power management.....

if I have to change a setting to see it ...I do not see that setting...if I have to config win 7 to show it ...I have not done it cause it was not mentioned I need to until now....and I was not told to do so looking for the initial statement to do this.,,,by bob

And I checked more than twice...the link is saying something about batteries...that is laptop....and that is as far as I need to read?....it is redundant as if I had any cores missing, or turned off...it would show in a cpu performance test...all cores are there as far as Sonar is concerned.

So bob is my uncle.

I will re read and circle around again Just for YOU ALEXS...but stop pissing on it.

Why on earth did you turn off plug and play in the BIOS?

Oh never mind...
2013/11/30 23:32:57
Sir Les
type in edit plan...I did that it opens the power management...Advanced setting selected....processor power management=system cooling policy= setting active.

That is the beginning of that link. and I read the power management setup part....nothing about any hidden setup....and As I said I check twice...and now more than enough times....and you folk are pissing on me, when I say I checked it and it is not there....and it is not...what you want me to do...snap shot and up load the pic to make you look silly?

Sir Les
Because Irq's win 7 share at its own will and whim....and I can't let that happen...You worked for Microsoft tech?...and you do not know that?

2013/11/30 23:41:05
Sir Les
And if You ask me to turn it off...I would...but I have been down that road many times AlexS...and it is not pretty...clicks pops crashes of the os bsod, data dumps and all that kind of stuff.

You used to be big on Windows 3.x and DOS optimization years ago am I right? Tweaking every last kb and optimizing every single IRQ configuration. You used Qemm rather than emm386. You delved into WIN.INI. Because really you are doing all the things I used to do in the 90s... Things have moved on a little from then I'm glad to say....
