  • [Solved] Sonar x3c Crashing with x2a Projects and odd behavior (p.15)

Sir Les
Well, I think I did enough screen snapping...Got some good info with that.

And I have turned back on the plug and play in the Bios Cause AlexS believes it is my problem...Not so.
I will now try to snap some of that behavior...Will post soon to show the result... sonar is IDOL, record buttons armed...not recording.
I will also run the DCP latency checker with a record session of 16 tracks of nothing but air with my settings to prove by snapping more info.

What is happening now is worse than with plug and play off in Bios...in regards to cpu spikes in sonar.

So I believe what is happening now, as I feared would happen, is the irq raster is now shared by Win 7 more so, with no exceptions...taking all that tweaking and tossing it out the window...

I had it working much better with out it on....had the cpu spikes calmed down to about half.

Please stand by...I have guests for the holidays, they Just arrived tonight...So this is not my first priority at the moment.

Sorry for any delays...But it's the season they say for more mead.

" />Dec 2nd spike while end task is open along side soanr...you can see that this is running in Idol with armed tracks, and cpu spike occurs.

In many cases DPC latency problems are caused by specific types of devices. So you should try the device types listed below first.
  • Network adapters for Ethernet and Wireless LAN (W-LAN)
  • Internal modems
  • Internal sound devices (on-board sound systems)
  • Any PCI or PCI Express add-on card, any PCCard or ExpressCard, e.g. TV tuner cards, ISDN or DSL adapters, modems, etc.

Might want to include USB.

The worst offender on my system is usbport.sys which suffers 3 times as much latency as any other item.  Seems a common situation.  I haven't had any problems with this, but that's not saying much.

Thanks Paul...I will try to make sure all USB devices are disconnected...But I have a mouse and keyboard which has to stay....

I am going for the full viper tweaks in services,...As my own are Just 3rd party services and some secrutiy and fax services, and ASP.Net turned off.... and Going to turn off PLUG and Play to get the cpu down again, and then do the nasty ...which I know some here do not think will do anything and or may cause win 7 to stutter and such...But like I said radical things have to take place, cause this is last resort measures....

Funny thing is Propellerheads Reason 7 was working with no issues.
And fruityloops 11...the only problem pointed at By Bob , was the plugin for bitmapping Like rewire and bitbridge were not installed right, on the last installed version of win 7 Ultimate< I was not using them >....which we wiped out, and did a clean install of win 7 Professional during this post....cause the mess x1 and x2 made of the system, was too deeply done to try to fix.

With a clean install, of all Drivers = buggy performance was noted ..
System hang on download of Driver for Addictive Drummer...eye candy...with IE 11.

So right from the start before installing any software..the system was showing issues with the Allen and heath/ Nic card for internet.
Which I was informed happens, and cannot be resolved in any working union...the solution is to remove the Nic card, and take out the drivers....so that done, we find the behavior above with only a few things installed.

This leads me to believe the cpu metering is false...but something is causing it to jump and cause clicks, pops, drop outs and software crashing...also noting now that sonar is dropping the audio device...

" />VIPER TWEAKS X3C PNP OFF TASKMNGR CPU LEVELS NORMAL RECORD ARMED IDOL NO PLUGINS ADDED...JUST THE DEFAULT ONES SONAR LOADS.

" /> 10 04 pm still spiking.

Ok so I have tried to turn off every service I can think of that may be effecting this...I turned off all apps, and features like media player and such...this is not working out on this system at all with the installed audio Allen and Heath R16 device Period...and nothing is going to make it work at this point, we tried it all...from default win 7 64 bit, to tweaked to the hilt....nothing worked.

So this kind of problem is what updating causes!...beware
