If you have installed Windows 7 again, did you go through the download/install of all maintenance?

There are GIGANTIC bunches of maintenance patches released for Windows 7, since the install disc.

Sir Les
Ok...I'm back online at the moment on my internet PC....I will be online with the other system soon, now that I see the CW FORUM is looking more normal to my eyes....It seems when I installed the A & L Drivers, and Tried downloading ADDICTIVE DRUMMER from that site...half way through the download IE 10 decided to crash the party and stop the download half way through......It says the download from the site is once only..Had a hard time closing out of that hang up, and in the end win 7 hanged itself, and I had to reset the system with the magic button, which cause other issues with not closing things down properly.....although I do not know where that event will turn up...it has happened.

...Do you feel the Gremlin/Spirits are against me some how?....And then when I tried to come back to the forum to re read the how to install Sonar with admin rights By Bob...the Forum looked like no html was working..??? .and Just with this cakewalk forums...everything else was seemingly Ok...Well that was around 8am est...and I was pretty tired...So ...Let see what a shut down for a few hours has next in store for me...

Thanks all for the wonderful Help...I wish this was asked of me months ago...Sspecky was asked to post from back then, and it did not go to this extreme....
I also tried putting my problems on the CW computer hardware forum, a few months back, but that did not get much results either.

So Yes, seems we are making headway.?..But I fear I've seen this bush before...and from what I know of this system, it isn't starting out well

Oh after that odd crash...Can you blame me for wanting to turn things off for internet?....auto updates, and background services...etc

Yes I updated to the hilt windows 7.
Bbefore installing drivers for the motherboard that windows did not install.
CakeAlexS advised on the video driver being ok to use....but I had to install the ASUS USB Drivers, and a Marvel Sata controller driver, ILOK and CODEMETER.

All seemed fine, so I went into event viewer through computer right click /Manage...it seems this way of getting into event viewer is slightly different ...if I use the search bar in start menu and type in event viewer...it opens up with less stuff to play with....perhaps I'm seeing things?.

ANY way there is a lot of errors in one pane....Not sure if I remember it exactingly, but well over 30....SO stay tuned in....perhaps it was just errors while updating bugs already introduced with the original install of win 7 and conflicts turning things on or off by windows to install the updates and shutdown methods ....and from there after it will behave?....well sort of.?...but this has already got me worried....I thought my system infected the forum setting here at CW forums....spent a while trying to find out how to log in to the plain no html side of things...cause I forgot what Bob said about admin how to and sonar....and possibly all installations.

Well Sonar 3xc is installed Now...But the computer is getting buggy since uninstalling ie11 to 10.....So I will have to turn off the audio for the next bash at event viewer and posting up what is necessary for more Mead.

Again thanks everyone for your advise...be patient with me...

Sir Les

To be quite honest, I did not play around with any Windows services or any tweaks whatsoever, and my system works just fine.

I realize all are different, but I am not sure I understand why you are making all of these changes.

So, you had a clean install, and maintenance for Win 7.  Then what exactly did you install, and how?

Regards to ati driver you can download an individual driver update on ati's site, usually better but I would leave it for now, other pressing issues....
2013/11/29 16:47:30
Sir Les
Thanks AlexS...I think the ati driver is up to date with win 7 doing it for me...they mostly keep things like that current.

But Now I am on my music system, looking into event viewer again.

Again ISS is playing around in this too...AlexS pointed it out...but here it is doing the same old same old...domain joins?

Also when trying to download Addictive drums a second time round...(as I never completed the download)...one could say I never got the first one....wink...the downloader says there is no GUI thingy found and the oline downloader does not work...and so no download for that...seeing as everything crashed I could not read what happens if it does not complete..online..

so some fudge is being made on my hard drive C: with that fudge, and I have to root that out....any ideas.?...and I have no idea what win 7 64 bit professional or ultimate is suppose to look like , and run like in the real world, I just was installing stuff thinking it was all ok..just to turn off the virus stuff and install away.....coming from xp sp2....I did originally follow instructions...but I must have rushed because of the issues I am now making you aware of...with nothing much installed now...I did install Sonar x3c with the A & L drivers....As Bob said to do...and some of Sonar's add ons went in admin mode the same way...

That is what is....So should I start again?...at this point I have nothing to loose.

Perhaps Going to Microsoft online help...and let them sort this out?

I am still looking for an exact list of what you installed after finishing the Windows 7 install and applying all outstanding Windows maintenance.

I cannot help you without knowing what you installed, and how you went about it.

In addition, is your computer overclocked?
