What power supply are you using on this system?  Also, how many fans?

Sir Les
The list....Adobe reader x1, Quicktime player 10, and Sonar X3 as admin, and the patch to x3c, and then he addon raputure, dimension pro 32 / 64 as admin.(only this afternoon)=Engine 2 latest update, dvix players for music and blueray /conversion of videos.......cause this is getting long....
Allen and Heath latest Driver with firmware..installed last night with Sonar x3c....this is what causes the internet problems and hangs and crashes with this system....SO I usually do not use internet with it...and thus no need for a lot of bloat ware running in the background servicing that ideal....

I thank you all for your directing me to the event viewer....WIN 7 installs & corrupts itself....I just had a session for this done....the tech said the system is in bad shape...and he needs to come back with other techs to troubleshoot.

He also told me win 7 when connected to the internet is prone to being corrupted...even with its own updates!

So there is your bread and butter...from Microsoft tech , to me...to you .

It has something to do with ISS....and other things running in the background that are not working right....he said briefly....SO 9pm I have another session of remote fixing....even if I did a new install...it would be trashed on updating....like this was.

Thanks Bob....more mead please!

What about motherboard drivers?  BIOS updates?

Seriously Bob, wipe the partition, install windows, your virus scanner (hope you are using just one virus scanner), your latest drivers (http://forum.cakewalk.com/Driver-Boost-m2928792.aspx) and Sonar. Run windows update. Try to avoid installing anything else for the moment. Then take note of the date and time once this is done, and then take a look at the event viewer every day for a week from that time (ignore previous errors). Assuming it is stable then backup (so you can rollback if necessary) and consider installing whatever else you need. Keep it simple. Then slowly install what you need.... Be minimalistic. Try to avoid your tweaking obsession. Keep watching that event viewer every day and attempt to diagnose and fix issues one by one rather than put in blanket optimizations. The less you do at first the better just get it running (try to avoid divx, blue ray etc etc). Try to treat your PC like a delicate little flower. Cheers.

There is nothing in the messages you pasted that show any serious issue with windows, just third party apps getting in the way of Sonar, and (extremely strange) IIS / ASP.NET.

What chip set is on your Firewire card?

I am a bit confused.  Your motherboard specs indicate native Firewire support.  What is the purpose of the added card?

I would like to see how stable your system is with all of the Firewire stuff removed temporarily, including the Allen & Heath.

I am beginning to believe there may well be a hardware conflict/issue between the on-board VIA 1394a chip set and your added Firewire card, or your 2nd Firewire card's chip set and the Allen and Heath.

Sir Les
Well Bob your asking a lot of reasonable Questions...
Ilok also, codemeter...was installed.
I forgot that in the list above.
The motherboard is older now, and is no longer getting updates, the bios is updated to the latest one...so no worries there.
And the motherboard drivers were supplied by Microsoft mostly...only the usb and usb 3 , and marvel controller drivers were needed from Asus's drivers.

As for onboard firewire A 400 ...it is disabled in Bios for a reason..it is not using a chip recommended by Allen and Heath...So the Firewire B 400/800 card is in place...in a unshared slot...windows takes care of that driver aswell.

The conflict is with internet nic and allen and heath....it was mentioned to me by Allen and heath technical support over the phone.

That is why I do not usually connect that machine to the internet....again are you reading my posts, or are they too long?...? or just gleening over?

So now for the news given by second Microsoft technician who called me at 11,25pm est.

He said in full voice...what is your problem?....I said look into the event viewer and see the logs of errors and warnings and go through them, to see if they need resolution.
As it was, last night I reinstalled win 7 pro, and did updates most of the night, and into the morning hours to get the system fresh..
Once done these errors and event logs were noticed , with some odd behavior.
he said show me those errors...when I opened event viewer, he said I will delete all the events...and tomorrow I will come back to see what is going on.

I explained ,Win update installed IE 11, which was very buggy,(internet and audio driver conflicts?) did not go to URLs of known working places for downloads of software, and drivers....I started a software download, and the IE 11 crashed the OS...the OS Hanged , did not respond to end task, as end task could not be invoked....and I then reset manually the system.

the onboard internet card has issues with the external Allen and heath audio device.......He said this is not a Microsoft problem, take that up with you device manufactures.

I said they are crashing on Microsoft software...so it is in part your problem as well, at least look and see...and IE 11 is also Microsoft...so is event viewer...and all those services and apps running in the back ground I do not need running if I eventually will not use internet..once all the system is fixed...I will turn internet off......but you do not want to look into Microsoft things it seems at this point.

He told me to stop and listen...I said you asked me a question, and I have the right to answer, and take as long as I need to express this to you to the answers, so you understand....there are ISS and ASP.Net  managing issues needing to be addressed, as this is continually being logged as happening but failing to resolve because something is not installed, or turned off....So perhaps turning it on, letting it resolve, and turning it back off again might stop it?

No everything is fine he said, and asked to close the session.

I said Ok , but tomorrow you will look into the viewer for any new error logs....and resolve them right?....he said we will see tomorrow between 9pm and 11pm.

That was it.

So...it was a waste of my time waiting for this to happen for just another day to come to mead.
One says one thing, to give me hope, and another points the finger away from any resolve soon....

SO Sorry folks for the long waits.
and broken lists, and long posts.....it does seem Sonar is working...dimension Pro is not working and the icon has gone white.,,,not sure why that has happened...it was fine this morning.

I have more software to install...I am tired...one more drink of berry Juice, and I am calling it a night.

thanks for the support folks....But this is going to be hard to solve for if I keep using the net on that machine.
So I am turning it off...till I finish installing my software.
