Some kind of approximation of when wouldn't hurt, though, would it? Weeks, Months, or Years?
Bugs are no different from car repair. You hear a funny noise coming from your engine. You take it in for repair, and they have to look at it to figure out what the problem is. It may be a leak that can be fixed in a minute or there may be a structural problem with the engine. They may the part on hand or they may have to special order it. What with all the interlocking elements of code, doing a workaround to accommodate a manufacturer (e.g., what recently happened with POD Farm) may cause other problems. And some "bugs" will never be fixed if they are so system-specific no one at Cakewalk can reproduce them, and there aren't enough reports from users to give sufficient clues on where to look.
You mention ARA and UAD, so now there are two more variables. Is the problem with Sonar or ARA or UAD? All three companies are small and have their own priorities. If UA has to put out fires because Apple decided to change how the PCIe bus works on the new Mac Pro desktops, that's going to take priority. And something like a user-configurable tool bar isn't a bug, it's a feature request.
A general estimate of when the new version will be released would be help me to know whether to start some sorts of new projects in X3 or use another daw for the time being, for example.
It all depends on which DAW's bugs don't affect your particular workflow. There are people who have switched to Sonar because other software had show-stopper bugs that Sonar doesn't have.
