Sounds like I should just keep working in X2 for now. Thanks for all the advice. I wish there was more than a band aid. Sounds like Cake is trying to sabotage vvocal. Looks like I may have wasted money on this upgrade and X2 may be the last version I use unless they can fix and make vvocal efficient the way it use to be and should be. I hate downgrades
V-Vocal is not a Cakewalk product, it's a Roland product. From what I understand, it will not be updated further and will remain a DirectX program, which many DAWs don't even support any more. I personally don't think it's worth giving up X3's speed comping, VST3 support, improved video foundation, and Melodyne's audio-to-MIDI conversion because I sometimes want to create a safety copy of a vocal track prior to doing extensive V-Vocal processing.
I think it's pretty clear from the posts here that the vast majority of users prefer Melodyne over V-Vocal, so although I continue to use V-Vocal, with respect to favoring one plug-in over the other I think Cakewalk made the right choice.
