Hello,
When I open a project in Sonar X3, works fine, no problems. But if I hit start, and any item in the right menu, documents, pictures, music, games, computer, Sonar crashes. No matter what project I open, it crashes when any of those items are selected. The only thing I did yesterday was update the drivers and firmware for my Lynx Aurora 8. Any idea what could be causing this?

Just for clarification, are you saying this issue started happening when you updated the drivers and firmware for your Lynx Aurora 8 or not?

Thanks...

I guess I am, because it worked fine yesterday, last night I updated drivers, now today it's doing this.

It creates a dmp file every time, is there a way for us laymen to read these files?

Is it possible that Windows sounds are using the same audio device that Sonar is pointing to?  And perhaps multiple applications are trying to gain control of the drivers?

Just a thought - quick enough to go check out.

Well, I have "no sounds" selected in windows, so hopefully nothing else is trying to use it. Thanks

Is your Lynx Aurora 8 the default device for sound playback in Windows? Perhaps check the setting under Audio Devices for Share this device with other programs or something like that. Try it turned on and off ...

If you want to upload the dmp file, I can try and take a look at it and see if it says anything of worth

Well, I just opened X1, and the same thing happened. So I guess it's a system problem, not a Sonar problem.

This is sounding like a system thing - perhaps a dump file would help.

Is your Windows completely up to date on maintenance?
