• SONAR
  • Routine maintenance, wondering what to do about TH2 Sonar/Producer/Full versions plugins

Hi All,

I've picked up a copy of the full TH2 version from overloud and have it installed.  I was just going through my plugin manager and found TH2 Sonar and TH2 Producer are loaded.

I don't like clutter and like to re-order things after a certain amount of time, am a bit of an order junkie.

Is it safe to exclude these from plugin manager?

You'll also note in the screenshot above 2 copies of z3ta+ - I'm also wondering if z3ta+ 2.1 version completely supersedes z3ta+ 1.x?  Would it be safe to exclude 1.x version?

Thx in Advance
Jim

No harm in using the exclude function in the plug-in manager. It is easy to undo if necessary.
The two z3ta+ dlls are different versions of the original z3ta+ fx modules (here is an explanation of the difference between them). z3ta+2 does not have a separate fx module.

I think the answer is yes as Z3ta + 2.1 has a bank called z3ta+ Classic content on my PC, although please note projects featuring the old plugin will not work (the sound would need to be recreated on the new plugin). If you've never used z3ta +1 in projects then you shouldn't care about this.

Z3TA+2 does not have a separate effects module which may be used in the FX bin. Z3TA+2 is a synth only and does ship with the original Z3TA+ patches included as Classic Content. The original Z3TA+ ships as a synth and a separate effects module which may be used in the FX bin. The illustration above shows to the 2 effects modules which are unique to Z3TA+.

OK now I understand, and that's pretty cool. Thanks...

I couldn't get z3ta+_fx2.dll to do anything effect wise, however z3ta+_fx.dll has now come out of retirement and appears pretty interesting, might be a simple alternative to NI Absynth 5.

Wouldn't it be nice then to have Z3TA+2 as an effects module, surprised that didn't happen.
