Hi Peeps,

I created my latest tune a bit ago. I had to keep it "under wraps" until the compilation album it has been included on was released.

Ice Caverns of Europa is another ambient drone piece.

I was inspired by my recent Arturia V synth purchases, which included the Modular V, ARP 2600 V, CS-80 V, Jupiter V, Mini V and SEM V. So most of these virtual instruments were included in this piece.

No guitar this time

So, get your pipe and slippers out, and a glass of Shloer, kick back and relax...........

I recognise those synths sweet, overtones of Vangelis in the feel.
How about a voice/instrument breakdown???

Nice stuff though the Ping ping voice does get a little irritating I would tend to raise and lower it throughout just to keep the interest.

Thanks for sharing

Hi Adrian

Thanks for listening. I had fun playing with those Arturia synths for sure

Hi Wookiee

What I was hoping for was, as various parts became louder, that the ping pong part would be masked, to a certain degree anyway. But I wanted it to remain for the whole length of the piece. It is supposed to represent, along with the drones, the sounds you could hear in such a vessel that you would travel in to visit those Ice Caves... So the ping pong is a sort of sonar, and the drones are the driving force of the vessel.

All the other sounds are then the wonders that you would see while in this vessel.

To be honest, it is very rare that I approach a composition like this, with a "vision" from the outset.

I specifically stayed away from any breakdown or lead parts so as to try an keep as much to the "ambient" genre as possible, or at least as I understand it. Like any genre, boundaries are pushed and there are lots of grey areas. This track represents what I feel is "ambient" to me, at least

Thanks for listening, I always look forward to your comments. When you use the synths I mention, it is difficult not to sound a little bit like the artists that pioneered those sounds some years ago , so I'm glad you mentioned that.

Wow, sounds incredible! I've never been much of a fan of ambient because I'm much too impatient to relax for very long.  This piece, however, held my interest. Really cool stuff!

Hi Kevin, I totally understand why so many peeps feel this way about some music. Even more so in this day and age, when many of us only have time for radio ready short and sweet tracks. Nothing wrong with that, of course, and I, too, have trouble putting time aside to just listen to music, and do nothing else.

This particular track is "only" nine minutes long... Some of the tracks on the same compilation run out at over twenty minutes

So, thanks so much for listening and leaving a comment. I really appreciate that

cheers

My pleasure. There's no questioning your talent in creating something that sounds so, well, delicious is the only word that comes to mind. By the way, I do dig the ping-pong, I rather like thematic oddities like that. This is really good work, Andy. Thanks for posting it.
