Wookiee
though the Ping ping voice does get a little irritating I would tend to raise and lower it throughout just to keep the interest.
Hi Wookiee
What I was hoping for was, as various parts became louder, that the ping pong part would be masked, to a certain degree anyway. But I wanted it to remain for the whole length of the piece. It is supposed to represent, along with the drones, the sounds you could hear in such a vessel that you would travel in to visit those Ice Caves... So the ping pong is a sort of sonar, and the drones are the driving force of the vessel.
All the other sounds are then the wonders that you would see while in this vessel.
To be honest, it is very rare that I approach a composition like this, with a "vision" from the outset.
I specifically stayed away from any breakdown or lead parts so as to try an keep as much to the "ambient" genre as possible, or at least as I understand it. Like any genre, boundaries are pushed and there are lots of grey areas. This track represents what I feel is "ambient" to me, at least
Thanks for listening, I always look forward to your comments. When you use the synths I mention, it is difficult not to sound a little bit like the artists that pioneered those sounds some years ago

, so I'm glad you mentioned that.
cheers
