Exactly. Which is the $14.99 plan + $10 to continue to use the LX480.

I seem to remember last year's BF/Xmas LX480 sale was $249 at PluginDiscounts. I just did not have the shekels at the time but I will this year. Then I can jump off the $24.99 plan altogether and go back to buying what I demo and like from Slate.

But the NI version is a little dirtier IMO. Still a nice verb tho.

I can live with it for the savings for now..

And the new Slate Verb may just kill the LX480 altogether

For those of you who are using the Slate plugs, what do you like best about them? How does what is included with Sonar compare? Are the virtual consoles, EQ's, virtual tapes and saturation that much better in slate? Since I have my Red 3 comp from Focusrite, the FET from Softube and took advantge of the LA2 cakewalk deal i think I have my basic dynamic processors down so I think what I am most interested in these days is a good compressor to glue my mixes, the 15th channel on the Trident board (the Master of Puppets vocals & guitar channel) and a good meter for mixing. But, thr everything bundle intrigues me, though I don't know if I am a fan (or if my wife would be lol) of a monthly subscription.

I think if I could get pretty close with what we have in Sonar and maybe adding a plug or 2 I may be better off than an on going subscription.

The Slate plugins are top notch.  They are better then
the included plugins with Sonar.  Can you do the same
thing with the included plugins.  Most likely, but not
with the same sonic characteristics...

I'm tempted by this.  I have a few questions or concerns:
1. How are they on CPU use in general?  Heavy, light, moderate?
2. How do they compare to UAD offerings?  I had an Octo, but I started having on-again off-again issues with it in my latest computer and gave up on UAD and sold it, so I'm thinking it might be nice to have a top-notch plugin suite to replace it.  (Price compared to UAD is pretty cheap, too. LOL)
3. I recently started mixing with Harrison Mixbus 32C and like the overall sound, so I'm kind of wondering how things would compare as far as console and tape emulations.  Do you think Slate would give me something added to the arsenal?
4. I see it requires a physical iLok II.  I have the software iLok for a couple of things I'm already using.  Any real issues I need to prepare for if I do go with the Slate plugins an switch over to a physical iLok?

Some have had issues with iLok.  I haven't myself.

The Slate Plugins are quite nice...and looking forward to the
new Reverb and others coming soon.

I quite like them myself...

Thanks Larry, I may just bite the bullet and go for it.  Price seems reasonable for that many great plugins.
