  • Rectify - Best Dramatic Series from the US Ever?

Just watched the final episode of Rectify on the Sundance Channel and I cannot think of another series (at least one from my side of the Atlantic) that has ever surpassed it for script, direction, pacing, acting - total perfection on every front.  Many probably missed it because it was on Sundance (that channel's first original dramatic production, at that).  When it hits DVD and/or Netflix streaming, most highly recommended.

Its now available on Netflix streaming. 4-seasons. A little binge watching in store.

Yep, I'd agree with David.  It's the best of all those things and great binge material.  Loved the series and it ended great, too.  Amantha is my favorite character.  Abigail Spencer nails this character and her cynicism becomes an endearing quality.

You do need to throw in a comedy hour every couple or three episodes though...it's a heavy show.

I passed on it, thinking it was a reality series about colonoscopies.

Hi,

What's a TV?

Don't even have one!

Just finished the binge of it. Great series. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'll recommend the series "Bloodline" on Netflix. Similar mood with great characters and an offbeat plot line. Only 2 seasons so far but, really great acting, writing and scenery. The music is pretty good also.

Thanks.  I know of several good Netflix series but was not aware of this one.  I only get Netflix disks - don't do streaming.  Their series eventually end up available on disk (at least a few have in the past), but you must wait a *very* long time it seems.  So, this one is now saved in my queue along with Sense8, Stranger Things, and several others.

Bloodline was pretty good but it's been canceled by Netflix.  I'm not sure if some other provider will pick the show up or not, but it ended with a pretty major cliff hanger.  So there's no closure if you start this one.

Sense8 was great, very sexually adventurous too, let's say...
