I only use Gobbler for file transfer, and not for backup/sync.
Bob,
I generally use Gobbler the same way. My projects are usually more than 20 GB these days. I have a paid Gobbler subscription which enables me to upload 40+ GB with my six month 20 GB bonus space, but it's really enough for just one project. I definitely couldn't afford to back up all my projects to Gobbler.
I use Gobbler heavily for sending around 24 bit and 16 bit waves. My friends have really caught on to links that are to a single person and can't be forwarded. It makes it easy for everyone to share work without risking the songs going out to the fan base before they're ready.
I will say that I usually keep my latest project backed up to Gobbler. It's handy
1 for sharing with the band
2 for being able to roll back if I screw it up while mixing
3 for keeping it all backed up in the easiest way possible (taking away any urgency to copy the tracks to another drive as we work on the project).
I have not had any issue with CPU. I have found that I need to pause Gobbler because it will use the hard drive around 100% and cause dropouts.
