Is the Octa capture or Quad capture known for this ?

This gentlemen mentions a quad capture and I have a octa capture.  My timing is not great, but I am usually late not early and often I see my playing as early.

Is there a way to know for sure if this happening ?

This describes a process for testing the accuracy of the reported latency

The OP has "X3...quad capture...latency measured at about 5ms roundtrip..."... where is the ASIO latency of 1295 coming from? For recording live that would make things "unbearable."

Yes...tell me about it!!!  Come to think of it, I think I also need to "nudge" my MIDI parts into the proper alignment before quantizing them, as it would quantize to the wrong division!  Lots of jazzy sounding parts I never meant to play.  Ha!

Should I just try to uncheck the "Use reported latency" box?

And also...small edit...I meant to say my roundtrip is about 25ms (forgot the "2"...sorry)...still pretty quick!

Not nearly low enough for through the DAW monitoring. You want to shoot for about 1/2 that or better somewhere in the less than 10ms range.

Just to be clear (since I have confused myself now)... Are you saying that the number at the bottom of Preferences->Audio->Driver Settings (the "Round Trip Number") does not match the number at the bottom of Preferences->Audio->Sync and Caching (the number to the right of "Use ASIO Reported latency")?

No it matches...it's just that I wrote 5ms by accident instead of 25ms, would I imagine would be BLASING fast...

with a latency that high you probably will be picking early
because it is not natural to hear the note slightly behind the beat.
If its possible try switching input echo off and playing the same guitar part
against the backing, listening to just the natural sound of the gutar

see if that improves your timing?
