I bought Play with Symphonic Choirs a while ago and I used it on one song- it has a Word Builder- you type words and choir sings something close to it. Well- when I used it first time, I had no issues, but now it randomly sings some phrases or words much louder than others. It sounds unusable- I don't understand what happened and what I am doing wrong. It was very easy first time.

I dont think it has that. I am reading their support forums and see people reporting issue with Cubase. My worked fine before- it was beautiful. I use choirs a lot- ok- I would use it a lot- in every song- you know symphonic metal with female vocals and choirs. Well- now it does not work. I updated the software to the latest version and it still doing the same thing. Like I would play A minor chords 4 times, it would play 3 times A minor and last time some other chord. Something went wrong with it. I also recently updated to Windows 8.1, but I do not see any posts or comments about Win 8.1.

Maybe the spellchecker?
OK sorry  No idea... Your best bet is to contact their support unless you get more takers for this thread...  One of those issues where you won't get any decent help apart from with people who actually own your plugin.

Cheers...

Hey Vlad,
I have both of these & once or twice have experienced the issue you mention.  However, I was not able to find a solution, so I just closed them & reopened starting from scratch.  I have had a number of issues trying to use these plugs (losing contact with my midi controller, routing problems, finding library samples, using articulation settings, etc). Altho it is somewhat limiting, I have had the best success using them in standalone mode.  As I don't have a full choir on standby, when I can get them working, they are GREAT .  Note also my sig, as I'm still on XP64, so you're leaving me behind on Win8.  Sorry I can't be better help.
Best,
HeyDan

I think it's a Play 4 issue. Download Play 3 and see if it makes a difference. I use Play 3 with choirs in Cubase and X2 without issue.

Thank you for your replies. I did post on their forum and got no replies, and their tech support did not reply either, and I sent my question on Thursday, so they had whole Friday to address it and not leave it hanging over the weekend. But they must be busy resolving all these issues.

As I am continuing to investigate the problem, I finding out that it is partially or fully related to the tuning. For some reason, when I play A key, the voices (Alto in Multy) sing D key. (Just the way they assigned the samples to the keys). There is dial to adjust key. When I try to adjust it, it appears as some other voices get mixed in to it and not everything gets tuned. Lets say I changed toning -2, and I play key A. I play AAAA. It playbacks AAG#G#. I can not understand mechanism of what happens because I did not create software and dont know how it works. I need it to correspond to the right keys. A on Yamaha keyboard should be A when I use Play, but it is not. In fact, each different sample set (altos, sopranos and such) have different tuning of its samples when I play the same keys on keyboard, so if I tune sopranos, the altos have totally another tuning. I tuned the samples by lowering them -2 and they corresponded to the right key. But then soon as I inserted the Word Builder- it lost tuning again and started playing different notes when I press the same key. How do I suppose to work with this? I realize now that 1st time I used it (when I thought it worked), I just used samples in what ever key they were on the keyboard and did not realize I was not in A minor, but was in D minor- some how it matched with the rest of the song. But now that I take closer look, I realize that word builder is not letting me to change tuning because it does not change it to all words of the phrase. Restarting it not resolving it. Thank you.

If you haven't go to a forum called VI Control.  Many experienced Play users and there is a guy called EastWest Lurker (he works for them) and get more info.

I can not remember what version I used to have- I did not upgrade the Play when the problem started- I am listening earlier song and I can see my chords played on MIDI controller and they are A minor and it sounds A minor by the choir samples. But not any more- in new song all samples sound low. Contacted their tech support 2 more times- still have no reply- it has been 10 days.
