Ok, so this isn't exactly about Sonar, but as I have lots of Sonar related stuff and I can't find anywhere else relavent, I am posting here.
Wanting an easy way of ripping audio to mp3 I figured I'd purchase Pyro Audio Creator so I purchased online. As part of the process I had to go to my account to download and get the serial number and reg. code. Imagine my surprise when I saw in my account a load of freebies to be downloaded. Some of it was older stuff but I was mainly interested in the Anderton videos. Terrific, I thought, I'll come back later and grab those.

It is now later and those freebies in my account are nowhere to be found. What happened? I was looking forward to some time with Ando and the vids, but, they are gone, disappeared, nadda. Why, how?
Why is Cakewalk being so cruel by teasing and the withdrawing.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Just looked up these videos to see how much they are, £3.99 per set, and the bundle says 'buy both to save big' ... But costs £8.99 lol.

Are anderton's X1 videos useful for Sonar X3 too?

Tips and tricks for X1 should be transferable to X3 I would think.

I still find useful info in my Sonar 8 power book, so I would think the X1 stuff would still be quite relevant.

Ok, they look to be worth £8.

The Anderton X1 vids aren't really the usual "Getting Started" type tutorials. It is a TON of wacky techniques using Sonar and it's various components. They are extremely useful and interesting. I watched them again a few months ago and pretty much all of it can be performed within X3. You MAY have to figure out some workarounds to accommodate some of the newer methods and some of the plugs were not included (but if you have older versions are available via custom install) but yes... still very relevant and much of it could likely be translated to other DAWs with a bit of creative thinking.

I for one would be annoyed if anything in my account got deleted... even if it was free. I don't necessarily download things right away or sometimes not at all but if I decided I want to try something out or say when I go to wipe my system and just dl and install the most critical stuff at first I'd still want that other stuff.

I mean the freebies are kind of part of the incentive to pay for the paid products in the first place... so technically they aren't "free". Free would be if I set up an account and never bought anything but still got that stuff.

It's not altogether clear here if the OP was qualified for these freebies or not, as apparently was 'surprised'.
Yup indeed John quite right freedom isn't free! :) Damn probably got charged for that as well...
