Hi guys, I was thinking of getting wavelab elements to do my mastering. It's only 99 euro. I know it's not the full package but I was interested in getting it so that my mastering workflow is outside of platinum. Will wavelab work ok on the same machine as sonar and will I be able to point it to my 3rd plugs like I do in sonar. Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers,
Andrew

I use Wavelab Elements 9 for mastering and it's a great program.  Love the meters and the workflow.  You have I think 5 or 6 slots for effects.  I use my UAD, KClip, Stealth Limiter etc plugins without any issues.  And yes, this runs on the same machine as SPlat.

When Wave lab 5 stopped running in W7 64 bit I bought Elements for $99 CAN in a music store. I then bought the Dongle for $30 to avoid having to get a new numbers everytime I changed my computer.
I use it every day and cannot say anything more than I don't see working without it.
It's solid as a rock and all you really need. The fancy version has more plug ins. Wave lab uses most of Sonars plug ins,  so for me I have more than enough to work with.  The biggest asset is the Global analyzer which I could not live without now. I also have it in the Tools menu of Sonar so can quickly open a track and work in a much more user friendly environment.
Only other software I need is Gold Wave just for the Batch conversion to MP3. Wave Lab is like Sonar and you need a 3rd party encoder. It came free with Gold Wave.

It's a great program.  In fact, I don't see how SB can justify selling it so cheaply when feature-wise it's decent competition to the much more expensive full Wavelab.  Wavelab Elements 9 (compared to 8) has a vastly more intuitive UI IMO and can be learned more easily (not that any experienced DAW user would struggle for long even with version 8).

SB does have some pretty significant discounts on it from time to time and Black Friday is just around the corner.  So, my might want to wait another week and maybe save some money.

+1 is great. Main difference between full and light versions is limited fx slots and lack of surround sound but otherwise same core features.

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the input. I went ahead and got it, works perfect for me and I'm really surprised at the amount of functionality in the lite version. The fact that there are only 2 effects slots for each clip is not a big deal, forces me to have better mixes and just maybe use and eq and small bit of compression at this stage, anyhow, great addition to my setup.
